Tropical Protein Smoothie!


Smoothies are an awesome way to pack in protein, vitamins, and antioxidants for you and the family!! Introducing a smoothie to the start of your day is a great way to begin your morning! It is light and allows for more energy to jump start your day (as opposed to a heaver breakfast that will put you in a food coma)! Additionally, it is a great way to pack in the 1-2 cups of fruits that our bodies need each day according to the experts with the USDA that created the super useful portions tool known as "My Plate"!


The benefits of this smoothie also include the ability to help lower blood pressure, increase HDL (aka 'good' cholesterol), reduce inflammation of the heart and help stabilize digestive system!! Who knew so much could come from one smoothie!!


Yield: ~24oz


Ingredients:

1/3 cup diced frozen pineapple

1/2 cup diced frozen mango

4 frozen strawberries

1/4 cup apple juice

1/4 cup guava juice

3/4 cup water

1 scoop of vanilla protein


Directions:

1: Add fruit to blender

2: Add liquid(s) to blender

3: Add 1 scoop of protein to blender

4: Screw on lid firmly and shake for 5-10 seconds

5: Blend & enjoy!


Sweetness of this smoothie can be adjusted by the amount of juice add! For a smoothie with minimal sweetness, water can be substituted as the only liquid! For those who are looking for something on the sweeter side, increase the juice volume and decrease the water volume!

Blend until smooth, & enjoy!!
